ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY
Our salmon are fed an Eco-Friendly diet that is more sustainable than traditional diets. The partial replacement of fishmeal with alternate protein sources means that the salmon are net fish protein producers. Essentially, the fish produce more protein than are consumed by the fish feed.
The salmon and feed are produced in plants that are HACCP certified. All feed is purchased from companies that only procure raw materials from managed and sustainable fisheries.
The fish are fed a premium diet higher in Omega 3 and vitamin E, than traditional diets. This results in a firmer flesh and a product that is better for you.
Lower stocking densities result in less environmental impact on the ocean. In addition, the proximity to our major markets significantly reduce our "carbon footprint", compared to other salmon farmers around the world. Over 50% of our product is shipped in recycled packaging.
Our products are produced in eastern Canada and sold primarily to eastern Canada and north eastern USA.
